Montana ObGyn: Your Partner in Pregnancy
Welcome to Montana Ob Gyn!
As a passionate ObGyn working in Sidney, Montana, my goal is to support women and families through one of the most exciting (and sometimes nerve-wracking) journeys of their lives—pregnancy and welcoming a new baby. Each pregnancy is indeed unique, whether you’re a first-time mom or have done this before. My goal is to be a reliable partner and resource, guiding you through this journey with care, compassion, and support tailored to your needs. I am a mother of 3 myself (so blessed!), and provide care from the perspective of a physician, a woman, a mother.
What does prenatal care entail, and more importantly, how can this benefit you and your baby?
Prenatal Care Matters
Pregnancy is simply an incredible time! It is a time of growth and change. Prenatal care helps ensure you and your baby are as healthy as possible throughout the journey. Regular check-ups allow us to track your baby’s growth, detect any potential concerns early, and give you valuable insights and resources at each stage of pregnancy. These visits aren’t just about physical health; they’re also an opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you might have, big or small. In a way, prenatal care is a blend of medicine and support, helping you feel empowered and informed as you prepare for the arrival of your little one.
Beyond monitoring your health, these appointments allow us to build a partnership based on trust. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and prepared for this new chapter. I am here to help any way I can. From understanding what’s happening in your body to providing guidance on lifestyle and nutrition, prenatal care can help ensure a healthy, happy pregnancy.
My goal is to support YOU, and this support depends on your needs. I am happy to care for you, even if you decide that your needs are different from what is “prescribed” to you. I respect your autonomy and understand that every woman’ s journey is different. You can certainly have a healthy pregnancy and delivery with no, or minimal prenatal care. With care however, the hope is that your pregnancy course could be optimized for you.
What to Expect AT Your Visits – the Adventure unfolds!
Every trimester brings something new and exciting. Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect along the way:
First Trimester (Weeks 1-14):
During the first trimester, we’ll confirm your pregnancy and establish a baseline for your health. Some routine bloodwork and a few other tests will be offered, to get a comprehensive understanding of your health. This is also a great opportunity to talk about lifestyle habits—like diet, exercise, and answer questions you may have. The first trimester can be full of new sensations (hello, morning sickness!), and I’m here to help you navigate this experience.
Second Trimester (Weeks 14-28):
By the second trimester, many women start to feel a bit more energetic, and some of those early symptoms may begin to improve (this does not apply to every woman, as everyone is unique). This trimester is extremely exciting, as baby is growing in leaps and bounds, and we get to see more detailed images of your baby with an ultrasound. Many families look forward to this! During this stage, we’ll continue to monitor both your health and your baby’s development. We’ll discuss topics like ways to stay comfortable as baby grows, and other concerns you may have. This trimester is often a favorite as moms (and dads, and siblings) feel more connected to baby, as they begin to feel more in the way of kicks and movements.
Third Trimester (Weeks 28-40+):
Home stretch! At this stage, more frequent visits are recommended. We’ll discuss what to expect during labor, prepare you for delivery day, and address any questions you may have. This is a great time to discuss any preferences you may have. This stage of pregnancy brings its own set of changes.
My ROLE
My approach to OB/GYN care is rooted in respect, empathy, and support. I believe in creating a warm, non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to ask questions and share any concerns. It’s my goal to make sure you leave each visit feeling heard, informed, and excited for the journey ahead. My goal is to accompany you, as best I can.
I will be putting up informative posts. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have.
